Jupiter

  1. (Rom. myth.) Orig. a sky-spirit, associated with lightning and thunderbolt; later, the chief of the gods, giver of victory, identified with Zeus.
  2. (astron.) Largest planet in solar system, revolving in orbit between those of Mars and Saturn, and with 4 large and several smaller satellites.
