Languages now not part of EBacc – report

Humanities: History and Geography only

Humanities: History and Geography only

The Independent has today reported that some language subjects, as well as Applied Science, Religious Education and ICT will not be eligible for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc).

Applied Science is considered to be vocational, hence its disappearance, whilst Religious Education will not be classed as a humanity.

However, it does not mention any of the languages that will become ineligible. We will keep you updated when more information is released.

UPDATE: we have just learned that Applied French, and Applied Welsh as a separate language are the GCSEs that will not count towards the EBacc.
