We have all had holiday disasters. Why not use the experience as a writing task?
Ask children to imagine a nightmare holiday, travelling is delayed, activities are cancelled when they get to their destination and the hotel doesn’t match the description in the holiday brochure. Now, get them to write postcards home about their experience and also write to the holiday company asking for their money back.
This worksheet presents a futuristic holiday disaster for children to write about. It is drawn from How to Dazzle at Writing. The activities in the book concentrate on composing skills. They help Key Stage 3 (KS3) pupils (11-14 year olds) with special educational needs to write in different genres, from letters and reports to song lyrics, stories and poetry.
