Spending money: free maths teaching resource for KS2

Many children will have been handling money and sweets during the summer! Why not use that experience for some maths work?

This activity asks pupils to work out which sweets they could buy with a certain amount of money. Perhaps they would appreciate some visual incentives, why not use role play coins and food items if you have them to extend the activity?

The money activity is drawn from How to be Brilliant at Algebra, a book containing 40 photocopiable worksheets designed to improve Key Stage 2 (KS2) pupils’ understanding of number relationships and patterns.
