How hot is it?: free creative teaching resource

Find the hottest part of the classroom. You may be surprised at how hot it gets.

If the weather has carried on being unseasonably warm it will probably be the part of the classroom with nobody in it!

This worksheet asks the children to use thermometers to find the temperature of various parts of the room. It then suggests some other experiments to try with the thermometer such as running it under cold water and gently holding their hand around the bottom of it.

This idea is drawn from How to be Brilliant at Science Investigations which contains 40 photocopiable worksheets with activities, to help Key Stage 2 (KS2) pupils develop the skills needed to plan and carry out investigations and to draw conclusions from the results.
