When is Christmas in Spain?: free teaching resource

Are your children aware that by the time they come back to school in January, children in Spain will still not have had their presents?

If you are scheduled to return to school before the 6th of January it will probably surprise your pupils to know that many Spanish children will still not have had their presents. A few may have been opened on Christmas Eve but on the night of the 5th of January children leave their shoes on windowsills and balconies for them to be filled with presents by the Three Kings. The 6th January is Epiphany or Kings Day (El día de los Reyes).

Once you have explored Christmas and New Year celebrations in Spain use these worksheets to consolidate what you have learned. They are taken from Spanish Festivals and Traditions for KS2
