Is it a living thing?: free science resource

Are plants living things? What do living things do that show they are alive? What activities or life processes can you describe?

This worksheet, Living things do these!, compares the life processes carried out by animals and plants. It also asks children to explore what conditions indicate that something is not living.

The activity is drawn from How to be Brilliant at Living Things, which contains 35 photocopiable sheets of creative activities designed to help Key Stage 2 (KS2) children develop scientific understanding of the fascinating topics associated with living things. They are addressed directly to the children. They are self-contained and many children will be able to work with little additional support.
