Primary Languages Classroom Awards 2012

We are pleased to be supporting the Primary Languages Classroom Awards for 2012 to recognise the work and commitment undertaken by teachers. Did you enter for an award this year?

If you did – GOOD LUCK! If not there is always next year. Check out the details on the PLCA website.

The awards are a way of celebrating the teaching and learning of languages including English in UK primary schools and to highlight its positive impact on both the whole school and the local community.

The awarding body aims to have a positive impact on the enthusiasm surrounding Languages in schools. With many pupils and schools supporting a wide range of languages the English as an Additional language (EAL) award is to celebrate teachers and schools that support language development in both English and the child’s home language.

The Primary Language Classroom Awards ceremony takes place on 16th March at The Education Show in the NEC Birmingham.

In 2011 Priory Lower School (Bedford Borough) teacher Paula Wakeling Bedford Borough won the award for outstanding teaching and learning in German.
There is a great deal of excellent practice going on nationwide- why not enter and tell others about it!
